10. TULUM, RIVIERA MAYA, MEXIC

Ceea ce face specială această plajă este apropierea de una dintre cele mai uimitoare ruine mayașe din Mexic. Mii de turiști o vizitează în fiecare zi, deci zona nu este tocmai intimă, dacă preferi liniștea. 9. PLAJA NAVAGIO, ZAKYNTHOS, GRECIA

Este una dintre cele mai apreciate și, totodată, exclusiviste plaje din Grecia. Situată pe insula Zakynthos, cea de a treia ca mărime dintre insulele grecești, plaja Navagio (plaja epavei, cum i se mai spune) pare, mai degrabă, un colț de Rai, izolat de restul lumii, de care doar cei privilegiați au șansa să se bucure. Plaja nu este accesibilă decât cu vaporul. Aici găsești cea mai transparentă apă a mării.

8. PLAJA GRACE BAY, INSULELE TURKS ȘI CAICOS

7. PLAJA WHITEHAVEN, QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA

Așa cum sugerează și numele ei, Plaja Raiului Alb este cunoscută pentru nisipul alb, format din 98% siliciu pur, ce îi oferă o culoare albă strălucitoare. În anul 2008 a luat premiul pentru cea mai curată plajă, în cadrul competiției „Cea mai curată plajă din stat”. Apoi în anul 2010 a fost introdusă în topul „Cele mai prietenoase plaje eco” realizat de CNN. Whitehaven Beach apare și în top 100 plaje ale lumii realizat tot de CNN.

6. BAIA DO SANCHO, FERNANDO DE NORONHO, BRAZILIA

Doi ani la rând, plaja Baia do Sancho a obținut primul loc între cele mai frumoase plaje ale lumii. Peisajul insular și puritatea albastră a apei oceanului te trimit de îndată cu gândul la un rai pământesc. Plaja Sancho Bay constituie o zonă mai izolată a principalei insule din arhipelagul Fernando de Noronha. Este o arie protejată, care se vizitează (de fapt se vizionează) cel mai frecvent cu ajutorul ambarcațiunilor care opresc la o anume distanță de țărm, spre a nu vătăma formațiunile de corali aflate la mică distanță de suprafața apei.

4. MAYA BAY, KOH PHI PHI, THAILANDA

Maya Bay a devenit celebră în lumea întreagă grație filmului „The Beach”, o producție hollywoodiană din anul 2000 în care rolul principal a fost interpretat de Leonardo DiCaprio. Plaja a fost închisă pentru prima dată în iunie 2018, după ce autoritățile locale au descoperit că cei mai mulți dintre coralii din zonă au fost afectați de ancorele ambarcațiunilor ce transportă turiști. Așa a rămas și în 2019.
