Salopeta Mugler care dezvăluie întregul corp devine uniforma pop a cântărețelor

Scena nu este strada, iar vestimentația vedetelor pop are, în principiu, puțin de-a face cu ținutele omului de rând, dar asta nu înseamnă că estetica lor nu o marchează pe cea a restului. 

Metalul albumului, luxul subvertit al grunge-ului sau imaginarul fetiș al Madonnei au pătruns profund în tendințele masive care continuă să fie revizuite și astăzi. Madonna și Jean Paul Gaultier, de fapt, au fost creatorii poate celei mai puternice icoane pop din toate timpurile: corsetul conic Blonde Ambition Tour, care a adăugat referințe masculine la un obiect codificat ca simbol al opresiunii. Cu acel corset, erotismul a încetat să mai fie obiectivare pentru a fi însușire.

Noua uniformă a vedetelor pop condensează un discurs asemănător: o salopetă foarte strâmtă (sau catsuit) care dezvăluie diferite părți ale corpului prin deschideri și transparențe strategice. Este purtată de multe vedete, de la Dua Lipa la Billie Eilish, de la Rihanna la Beyoncé, de la Miley Cyrus la Cardi B.

Costumul este realizat de Casey Cadwallader, tânărul designer american care este directorul de creație al lui Thierry Mugler din 2017. Prima dată când a văzut pe podium a fost acum trei colecții, în primăvara anului 2020, iar expunerea sa enormă în media l-a făcut un element „de bază” al casei. 

Cadwallader a explicat de mai multe ori că acesta și majoritatea modelelor sale au două motivații: pentru a actualiza moștenirea lui Thierry Mugler și pentru a crea piese care să servească orice tip de corp ca formă de autoafirmare. 

„Scopul meu este să creez o nouă cultură în jurul lui Mugler, inspirată de o abordare multidisciplinară. Vreau să se potrivească diferitelor tipuri de femei, de toate vârstele, mărimile și culorile și în orice moment al zilei. Îmi doresc să îmbrac oameni care mă inspiră, și pe cei care sunt inspirați de brand la rândul lor”, explică designerul pe site-ul firmei.
